The challenge

A ticketed, commercial experience where families could walk through the world of The Little Prince — the environments Saint-Exupéry imagined — anchored by a 360° projection dome. The hard part: translate a beloved book into a cohesive, navigable 5-acre world, built from the ground up, where every space feels like a chapter without losing the emotional precision of the story.

The approach

I built the journey as a spatial sequence — Drawing Room → Immersive Dome → VR Room → Retail — each zone its own chapter. Drawing on my own reading of the book, I turned its universe into real environments: an all-white drawing room with monumental cutouts of the original illustrations against a wall-to-wall LED screen, priming the step into the dome's full 360° world, then a VR room and a clean modern store to close the journey. The two spaces I'm proudest of: the drawing museum, with its larger-than-life 3D cutouts of the book's own drawings, and the minimalist white store.

What I directed (concept → construction)

  • Overall creative direction and the spatial concept — the full multi-room journey
  • The 137-ft, 45-ft-high 360° projection dome — environment and content direction
  • Each experience: drawing room, dome, VR room, retail
  • 3D modeling, renders, and the screen/projection animation
  • On-site: directed the contractor and printers, then handed the build to the production team to assemble

Led a small RMT team — senior and junior graphic designers, a 3D/rendering artist, and a content animator.

The result

The finished world looked remarkable — kids were captivated, adults impressed. I'm proudest of the design and the screen animation: an entire book translated into a 5-acre environment you could walk through, at a scale few immersive projects attempt.
